The firm

Small, Swedish, and narrow by choice

Daylited AB is a Stockholm innovation firm working in electric vehicles, electric transport, artificial intelligence and hardware. We are part of a group that also builds and sells its own products, which means we have shipped the kind of thing we are asked to advise on.

Daylited AB, 559593-4240. Registered in Sweden.

A small house with one lit window, between an agreement and a register A house drawn in thin outline with two windows, of which the right one is lit. On the left lies a document with a violet check mark, on the right a register extract with three lines of text and the registration number 559593-4240 beneath it. Glowing lines join the house to both. SMALL, SWEDISH, NARROW BY CHOICE 559593-4240 IP STAYS YOURS

Why the name

To daylight something is to bring it into the open where it can be checked. That is most of this job. The patent record is public and nearly unread, standards are published and rarely opened, and a measurement that flatters the product is usually a measurement nobody wrote down honestly.

We put those things on the table early, including when they are inconvenient. A client who finds out in month two that the idea is taken has lost a month. A client who finds out in month fourteen has lost a company.

What the light is for

The method has a conviction underneath it. Work that must stay dark to survive is work we refuse, whoever asks. We take no engagement that helps one person hold power over another, and none that requires a customer to stay uninformed.

The other half of the conviction is warmer. Research exists so that people can live safer and less afraid. When a field is examined in the open, superstition loses its grip on it. We build for that, and we keep the company of people who do the same.

Four things we hold to

A key held over a lock plate A key drawn in outline above a plate with a keyhole in it.

The intellectual property is yours

Everything produced in an engagement belongs to the client, written into the contract. We file nothing on a client's invention and we take no share of one.

An agreement with a mark on it A document with five lines of text and a violet check mark in the lower part of the page.

The price is fixed before the work

Scope and price are agreed in writing before the first hour. A change is a new scope agreed in advance, never a line discovered on an invoice.

A line ending in a bar A horizontal line that runs into a solid vertical bar and stops there.

Bad news travels first

A measurement that disappoints, a standard that moved, a claim that blocks the design. These reach you the day we know, not in a summary at the end.

A path with a fork and one branch chosen A line that splits into two, where the upper branch is drawn in mint and the lower one dashed and faint.

We say no to fields we do not know

Four fields is a real limit and we hold it. When a request sits outside them we say so and, where we can, name someone better placed.

What we will not do

Written down so you can hold us to it.

  • We do not file, prosecute or give formal opinions on patents. That is an attorney's work and we will introduce you to one.
  • We do not claim certifications we do not hold. Daylited holds no management system certification today, and any page that said otherwise would be wrong.
  • We do not publish client names or logos without written permission, which is why you will not find a wall of them here.
  • We do not take a project in a field we have not worked in, however interesting it is.
  • We do not use a client's confidential material to train anything, and no client data leaves the systems agreed in the contract.

The verifiable facts

The company was registered under a previous name and the change is on record with the Swedish Companies Registration Office. If a register still shows the older name, that is why.
