Prices

The number is agreed before the first hour

A price you have to ask for is a price that moves. Ours is written here, and the one in your scope is the one that counts. A change is a new scope agreed in advance, never a line discovered on an invoice.

The rates

Three ways to buy the same hours

Excluding VAT. Swedish kronor. These are the standard rates and they are what a scope is priced from.

FormPriceWhen it fits
Monthly retainer125 000 krContinuous work, a known scope, and a team that needs us available rather than booked
Day rate15 000 krA defined piece of work with a beginning and an end, usually a search or a review
Hourly2 100 krShort questions and follow up on work we have already done

Anything above ten thousand kronor that is not already in the scope is agreed in writing first. Below that we get on with it and put it on the invoice, so a small thing does not cost a meeting.

What a scope contains

The same four lines every time

A scope you cannot read in five minutes is a scope somebody will argue about later.

A test bar being pulled, with the stress curve it produces beside it A test bar drawn in thin outline is held between two grips and pulled in both directions. To the right a chart shows the curve it produces, rising steeply, bending at a marked yield point and then flattening. Help lines drop from the yield point to both axes. Along the bottom stand the words elastic, plastic and where it breaks. YIELD STRAIN STRESS ELASTIC . PLASTIC . WHERE IT BREAKS

What you get

Named documents and, where the work goes that far, a working object. Listed by name, not described in adjectives.

Five boxes in a row with a dashed return path from the check Five boxes stand in a line marked collect, clean, model, check and ship, joined by glowing arrows. A dashed line runs from the check box back to the first, with the words fails the check, goes back beneath it. Along the bottom stand the words provenance at every step. COLLECT CLEAN MODEL CHECK SHIP FAILS THE CHECK, GOES BACK PROVENANCE AT EVERY STEP

What it costs

One number, agreed before the first hour. Not a range, not an estimate, and not a rate multiplied by a guess.

A three tier archive shelf with one document pulled out into the light Three shelves filled with document spines of varying height, drawn in thin outline. In the middle of the second shelf one document is pulled out and lit by the cone, showing four lines of text and a violet underline. Above stands the failures are the useful half, below stand granted, lapsed, withdrawn and rejected. THE FAILURES ARE THE USEFUL HALF GRANTED . LAPSED . WITHDRAWN . REJECTED

What we do not do

Written down as plainly as what we do. Filing and prosecuting an application is an attorney's work, and we name one.

Two people at a table with one document between them A table drawn in thin outline with a simple figure seated at each end. On the table a single document is lit by a glowing line falling from above, with two lines of violet text on it. Faint lines run from each figure to the document. Along the bottom stand the words same document, both sides, and price fixed before the work. SAME DOCUMENT . BOTH SIDES PRICE FIXED BEFORE THE WORK

Who owns it

You do, from the first day, in a repository you control. Our access ends at handover unless you ask for it to continue.

What people ask about the price

Is the first call free?

Yes, and there is no charge for the conversation that decides whether we are the right firm. If the record says the idea is taken you will hear that on the call, and it will not cost you anything.

What if the work turns out to be smaller than the scope?

You pay the smaller number. A fixed price protects you against it growing, not us against it shrinking.

Do you take a share of the invention?

No. We file nothing on a client's invention and we take no share of one. That is in the contract.

Can we start small?

That is the normal way. Most engagements begin with a search and stop there, which is the point of doing the reading first.

An opened envelope under an arc of light An envelope stands open in the middle with two lines of text visible, one of them violet. An arc of light curves over it from left to right and ends in a point. Above stands two paragraphs is enough, below stands it reaches the person who would build it. TWO PARAGRAPHS IS ENOUGH IT REACHES THE PERSON WHO WOULD BUILD IT
