Para qué sirve un consultor de IA

Un modelo es fácil de conseguir y difícil de responder por él. Cualquiera puede llamar a una interfaz y recibir una respuesta. Lo que cuesta trabajo es saber si la respuesta es correcta, qué pasa cuando no lo es, y quién responde cuando un cliente actúa según ella.

Ese es todo el trabajo. Tomamos una pregunta que usted tiene, averiguamos si un modelo es siquiera el instrumento adecuado, y luego construimos alrededor del modelo lo que lo hace utilizable: el conjunto de evaluación, la vía alternativa, el registro, y la regla que lo detiene.

La respuesta a veces es que no necesita ningún modelo. Una tabla de consulta, un umbral o un formulario mejor resuelven una parte sorprendente del trabajo que llega bajo ese título, y las tres son más baratas de operar y más fáciles de defender ante un cliente.

Un bucle sin regla de parada no está en producción

Un agente es un bucle: algo lo dispara, planifica, actúa a través de herramientas, y comprueba el resultado. Los tres primeros son la parte fácil y todas las demostraciones se quedan ahí.

En la comprobación está la ingeniería. Qué cuenta como terminado, qué cuenta como equivocado, cuántas veces puede reintentar, y qué hace cuando se le acaban los intentos. Un bucle que no puede decidir parar acabará gastando su dinero o su reputación en una tarea que entendió mal.

Su propio conjunto de evaluación, o la cifra no significa nada

Una puntuación en una prueba pública dice cómo se comporta un modelo con el problema de otro. Merece leerse y no es una prueba sobre el suyo.

Por eso lo primero que construimos no suele ser un modelo. Es un conjunto de sus propios casos con las respuestas correctas por escrito, incluidos los incómodos, y una forma de volver a ejecutarlo. Cuando eso existe, cada decisión posterior tiene una cifra detrás, y usted puede repetir todo el ejercicio cuando nos hayamos ido.

Los fallos se enumeran antes del lanzamiento en lugar de descubrirse después. Un fallo que puede nombrar es un fallo detrás del cual puede poner una vía alternativa.

El uso decide el nivel, no el modelo

Las normas europeas de IA clasifican los sistemas por el uso que se les da. El mismo modelo puede estar en un producto de riesgo mínimo y en uno de riesgo alto, y las obligaciones son completamente distintas.

Eso se resuelve antes del lanzamiento, por escrito, como parte del expediente técnico. Hacerlo después significa descubrir en un cuestionario de compras que el producto necesita una evaluación de conformidad que nadie planificó.

La declaración es del proveedor, y en casi todos los casos ese es usted y no nosotros. Nosotros producimos las pruebas y el expediente en el que se apoya, y decimos claramente cuándo una decisión necesita un jurista y no un ingeniero.
